Background
Ashley is recently completed her Master’s in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Devoted to enhancing the wellbeing of others, Ashley is committed to applying the knowledge gained from her studies to her work with clients.
Ashley has long aspired to work as a psychotherapist and has focused her career, academic pursuits, and volunteer efforts thus far around fulfilling that dream. With experience working as a peer support volunteer, as well as with several initiatives that advocate for systemic change in the youth mental health system, Ashley has developed an unwavering drive to make a difference.
Ashley is both ASIST and ASK certified.
Therapeutic Style
Ashley carries compassion, warmth, and an empathetic disposition. With an understanding that every individual is different, Ashley focuses primarily on the subjective nature of each client to ensure that their wellbeing is cared for in a well-suited, non-judgmental way. Ashley believes in the importance of working collaboratively with her clients and is committed to embracing the unique needs of each individual by way of thoughtful goal setting and treatment planning. Through hope, self-acceptance, and realized potential, Ashley hopes to facilitate positive change.
Treatment modalities
Ashley uses an integrative therapeutic approach with areas of interest in Person-Centered Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy.
The love that she has for animals has also inspired her to explore the benefits of Animal-Assisted Therapy and the powerful bond that is created between animal and human.
